In the arena of subsurface exploration, structural geology evaluation, and geotechnical engineering, the integrity of retrieved core samples represents the single point of failure for design parameters. Traditional single and double-tube core barrel systems often generate friction forces that disintegrate soft, fractured, highly weathered, or clay-rich geological formations. To resolve these challenges, modern drilling standards mandate the use of the Triple Core Barrel (commonly designated under the T6, NMLC, or HQ3 standards depending on regional naming rules).
Unlike basic setups, a Triple Tube Core Barrel configuration introduces a split inner tube liner. While the outer barrel rotates and cuts the rock using diamond or tungsten carbide matrices, and the inner barrel remains stationary to receive the sample, the third component—the split steel or plastic liner—houses the geological sample. This liner enables geotechnical engineers to extract the core intact, without mechanical pushing or water wash-out. This delivers unparalleled Rock Quality Designation (RQD) indicators, crucial for infrastructure, tunnel design, and deep mineral exploration projects worldwide.
A major cause of core loss is core wash—the dynamic erosion of soft samples caused by high-pressure drilling fluids. Triple core systems employ specialized fluid management. The water pathway is strictly confined between the outer and intermediate barrels, exiting directly behind the diamond face. This ensures that the mud or polymer slurry washes cuttings away from the cutting face without ever coming into contact with the core as it enters the stationary split liner.
This system is particularly critical for projects where structural continuity must be diagnosed, such as coal seams, siltstones, claystone interfaces, and fractured fault zones. By protecting these delicate materials, engineers gain access to true stratigraphic representations instead of washed rubble.
SINOVO Group is a professional supplier of construction machinery equipment and construction solutions. Engaged deeply in the fields of construction machinery, geological exploration equipment, import/export product agent services, and construction scheme consulting, we have been serving the world's most demanding engineering contractors and geophysicists for decades.
As early as the early 1990s, the backbone members of our company have been actively serving in the construction machinery field. After more than 20 years of continuous development, localized adaptation, and system innovation, SINOVO has built long-term strategic cooperation alliances with top-tier equipment manufacturers globally. Our expertise has earned us multiple awards in China's engineering machinery export projects.
Our business scope focuses on pile construction machinery, hoisting, water well drilling, and geological exploration equipment. SINOVO Group has established trade networks across five continents, ensuring that high-tech drilling systems and robust geological tools are delivered with full localized after-sales support. All products have successively obtained ISO9001:2015 certification, CE certification, and GOST certification. Our piling machinery is recognized as a leading brand in the Southeast Asian market, and we continue to expand our status as an essential supplier for the African exploration industry.
Future exploration pipelines require real-time downhole diagnostics. Sinovo is investigating the integration of micro-sensors inside the outer casing of the core barrel. These track downhole RPM, vibrational frequency, and hydrostatic pressure to adjust parameters dynamically, preventing accidental core fracturing before it occurs.
Replacing traditional steel split tubes with transparent, heavy-duty composite polymer liners. This allows geo-technicians to visually inspect structural core formations immediately upon pullout, preserving delicate, volatile fault gouge material for high-precision laboratory testing.
Modern environmentally sensitive sites require mud-free drilling. Sinovo's new triple core barrel iterations utilize diamond crowns optimized for biodegradable polymers and clean water flushing, maintaining sample integrity while minimizing environmental impacts.
In 2010, SINOVO invested heavily in establishing a manufacturing base in the Hebei Xianghe Emerging Industry Demonstration Zone. Covering an area of 67 mu, with an investment of 120 million yuan, this base houses our advanced research and production setups. Located just 100 kilometers from Tianjin Port, this facility significantly reduces transport costs and enables rapid shipping schedules.
Our Beijing headquarters—Beijing Sinovo International & Sinovo Heavy Industry Co. Ltd.—is an ISO9001:2015 certified manufacturer. Here, we run a 7,800 square meter production hub equipped with over 50 specialized precision machinery units. This massive infrastructure yields an annual capacity of 1,000 units of core drilling rigs, 250 units of water well rigs, and 120 units of heavy rotary piling rigs.
Our commitment to geotechnical reliability has earned us praise from engineers operating in highly challenging strata across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Central Africa. By providing bespoke setups, custom coring diameters, and direct factory consultation, Sinovo heavy machinery has been repeatedly rated as a premier provider by international construction partners.
Our Hebei manufacturing site was officially recognized as a "Science and Technology Enterprise" for its contribution to development and manufacturing of pile engineering machinery, water well drilling, and deep geological exploration setups.
We have built an outstanding leadership team with more than 30 years of experience in the design, development, production, and sale of engineering rigs. Supported by an experienced foreign trade business team and a dedicated after-sales engineering force, SINOVO Group coordinates rapid responses across time zones.
Sinovo places strategic value on professional training and technical R&D. Our technology center coordinates multiple patent programs, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of electronic hydraulic control, hybrid drive systems, and core recovery innovations.
