Over thousands of operating hours under variable load profiles, internal combustion engine cylinders suffer from taper, out-of-round wear, and bore glazing.

This process involves utilizing advanced heavy-duty boring machines to cut away worn material, followed by precision honing to establish the ideal surface roughness (Ra) and cross-hatch angles. Cylinder block reboring is not merely a cutting operation; it is an act of metallurgical restoration. Standard gray cast iron blocks or aluminum blocks with cast-iron liners react dynamically to thermal cycling. Following the boring pass, plateau honing is implemented.
