A casing adapter (also known as a casing drive adapter or casing driver) serves as the critical mechanical interface between a rotary drilling rig’s rotary drive (kelly bar or casing drive system) and the top casing pipe. Its main duties include transferring massive rotation torque (often exceeding 360 kNm) and crowd force downward into the casing string while maintaining precise alignment. In the UAE's high-torque piling environments, a minor weld defect or steel impurity in an adapter can lead to structural failure, dropping the casing line and risking project delays worth millions.
